Again as with day workshops there are numerous options as to what you can produce and how you can go about it.
Below are some ideas for the year but I appreciate that some of you may attend other workshops/see other items I have nade or have a specific theme or idea you wish to work to.
Workshops may just be the willow element of an arrangement (usually in the form of a willow vessel, frame, nest or cage), willow and flowers or a willow sculpture/item for the garden.
Some clubs have a large numbers of members so it is possible to offer 2 workshops over a weekend in order to accomodate all.
Usually I cap numbers at 25 per session so that everyone can get individual attention. With lower numbers it is easier to provide workshops with more of an individual design element.
BARK PEELING & STRIPPING
1 Day Courses
1 day course morning session -
You will strip living willow poles of varying thicknesses and lengths giving you natural white willow poles and beautiful
strips of bark which can be used for containers, ties, curls, platted or woven.
1 day course afternoon session:
You could then go onto producing a Spring themed floral table centrepiece created using both bark and stripped poles
Or a woven frame or vessel using bark and stripped poles with a contemporary twist
Or after all that hard work sit back and watch a demonstration of ideas for using bark/rods into a variety of arrangements.
PODS, SPHERES AND RANDOM WEAVE VESSELS
The morning session starts with the common hoop making which is
applicable to all. After morning coffee a demonstration of how to construct the framework for a pod, sphere or similar random weave vessel.
The afternoon session is spent leisurely weaving in.
Ladies can choose to work to whatever size they wish and for a variety of purposes. Holes can be added and weave can be dense of fine depending upon choice of use.
As well as containing floral arrangements they can be used as hanging baskets, bird feeders, soft fruit protection a garden sculpture or fill it full of fairy lights for an iilluminated evening!

A beautiful spiral woven nest which will make a stunning table centrepiece. Filled with seasonal flowers and foliage and church candle. A simple yet stunning natural arrangement.
Your very own reindeer! Standing about 2/3ft high on a rustic wooden plinth- this is not for the faint hearted- a full on long day more suited to a smaller group and those with some willow weaving experience.
